Four injured in accident

TIRUCHI: Four occupants of a van were injured when the vehicle dashed against a tree at Mutharasanallur on the Tiruchi - Karur national highway early in the morning on Saturday. The occupants were travelling from Kumbakonam to Tirupur when the accident occurred.

Chains snatched

Two incidents of chain snatching were reported at Govindhapuram near Thuraiyur on Saturday. In each of the two incidents, unknown persons allegedly snatched a six-sovereign gold chain from both Sellammal (65) while she was sleeping in her house and Annakannu respectively.

Driver arrested

A state transport corporation bus driver was arrested after his vehicle dashed against a bullock cart injuring two persons, Srinivasan and Indrajit, both hailing from Tholurpatti, who were travelling in the cart. The incident occurred on the Tiruchi - Salem main road near Thottiyam on Friday. — Staff Reporter
