BANGALORE: A young man and a woman, said to be lovers, committed suicide by jumping in front of a train at Deepanjalinagar, off Mysore Road, on Friday night. Passers-by noticed the bodies on the tracks around 10 a.m. on Saturday and alerted the police. They suspect the two, aged around 25, are from Mysore. On the basis of bus tickets found in the man's trouser pockets, the police said the two had boarded a KSRTC bus in Mysore around 4.30 p.m. on Friday. The two, the police suspect, had got down at BHEL Circle on Mysore Road and then committed suicide. Two tickets of a cinema in Mysore were also found in the man's pockets. The city Railway police have registered a case and are ascertaining the identity of the dead.
Murdered
A 35-year-old man was found murdered in a coconut grove at Dinnur village in Whitefield police station limits in Bangalore Rural district on Friday. The man has been identified as Ramesh, a resident of Anjenahalli. He used to sell tender coconuts near the International Technology Parks Ltd., the police said. According to information gathered by the police, two men had taken Ramesh on a motorcycle to the coconut grove on Friday afternoon and slit his throat. Passers-by saw Ramesh's body in the evening and alerted the police. The Whitefield police have registered a case. Two teams have been formed to arrest the suspects, the police said.
Suicide
Kaniyappan (65), a labourer, committed suicide by hanging himself at his house on 6th Cross, Chamundinagar, 5th Block, Rajajinagar. The police said Kaniyappan was suffering from chest pain.
Boy falls to death
Shekar (10), son of Thyagaraj of Srinagar, fell from his first floor house on Friday in Hanumanthangar police station limits. He died in Victoria hospital on Saturday. The police said Shekar fell while he was playing with his friends in the passage which did not have a proper parapet.
