Phone services to be affected Telephones numbers starting with `2561'will be affected in a few areas of the city on May 16 and 17 because of road widening works.

The areas affected are parts of Devasandra, Ayyappanagar, Basavanapura, K.R. Puram Extension and Bhattrahalli, according to a Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd. release.

Programme in food processing

The National Institute of Small Industry Extension Training (NISIET) is organising a 30-day entrepreneurship development programme in food processing.

Persons who have passed pre-university and are in the 18 to 35 age group are eligible to apply.

Staging of play

Course in astronomy

A three-week course in astronomy and astrophysics for the II pre-university students will be held at the M.P. Birla Institute of Fundamental Research, 2nd Floor, M.P. Birla Research Centre, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan campus, 43/1 Race Course Road, Bangalore, from June 6 to 24 from 4.30 p.m to 6 p.m.
