HYDERABAD: Traffic came to a standstill for quite sometime in the areas around LB Stadium following the `rededication day' meeting held on Saturday evening. Right from 3.30 p.m, as the meeting was scheduled to start, traffic moved at a snail's pace in Basheerbagh and King Koti areas. The stretch from All India Radio up to Nampally, vehicles came to a virtual standstill. Traffic at Basheerbagh was thrown out of gear after buses carrying Congress supporters entered the Nizam college grounds, which was made the designated parking place. With a fleet of buses moving in at the same time, the normal traffic was affected.
Traffic snarl again
With the slow movement of vehicles at these junctions, traffic at Abids too moved at a snail's pace. Traffic movement on the road leading to Hyderguda too went for a toss. This was the situation till the meeting was in progress. Once it was over, again the junctions witnessed traffic snarl. The traffic police had a tough time managing vehicular movement while the angry motorists tried in vain to get out of the traffic jam by taking lanes and bylanes.
