The medical authorities are fully geared to take up the programme, the District Medical Officer, P.K. Sivaraman, said at a press conference on Saturday. He said 10 mobile units would be pressed into service. This would be in addition to hospitals, primary health centres and other places. More than two lakh children would be given polio drops at more than 2,000 booths. The booths will function from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The booths at railway stations, KSRTC bus station, boat jetty and airport would provide 24-hour service. The services of about 300 doctors and 4,000 volunteers would be utilised. The district-level programme would be inaugurated by the Mayor, C.M.
