THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The State Human Rights Commission member, Lekshmi Kutty Amma, inspected the Fort police station today to verify an allegation that some persons were being illegally detained there. The member inspected police station records and talked to the officials. A tense situation prevailed at the station after policemen prevented television camera crews from filming the persons who were in the lock up at the time of the SHRC member's visit. When contacted, the Circle Inspector, Fort, T. F. Xaviour said that the persons in the police lock were those arrested on Saturday morning in connection with a chain snatching case at Poonthura. He identified the accused as Thomas, Unni and Xavier.
