Commodity prices

The following were the prices (in rupees per kg) of essential commodities in the local wholesale market on Thursday: groundnut oil - 51, palmolein oil - 39.50, sunflower oil - 48, tamarind (flower variety) - 20 to 28, tamarind (karipuli variety) - 42 to 46, chillies (new) - 13 to 14, rice (2716) - 13, rice superfine - 15, samba masoori 15 to17, sona masoori - 17 to 19, black gram (pottu minapappu) - 22 to 24, red gram (kandipappu) - 22.80, red gram (pandiripalem) 25, red gram (Nagpur) 27.30.

Power shutdown

There will be no power in the following areas from 6 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Sunday : Rajagopalachary St., Kaleswararao Road, Besant Road, Prakasam Road, Gopalareddy Road, Mudda Subbaiah St., D.K.Rao lane, Lenin centre and Peddibotlavari St. The high-tension services that would be affected are Apsara Talkies, Swarna Picture Palace, Jaihind Talkies, Modern Café and Krishna Residency Hotel.

BSNL directory

The BSNL Telephone Directory - 2004 for the Krishna Telecom District is all set for printing. Consumers can cross check the details with their respective telephone exchanges till May 17.

ATM inaugurated

The State Bank of India Deputy General Manager, N.V. Suryanaranayana Rao, inaugurated an automatic teller machine (ATM) facility in the KBN College Campus, Kothapeta, on Saturday.
