CHENNAI: Rainfall occurred at a few places over Kerala. Isolated rainfall occurred over Tamil Nadu. Mainly dry weather prevailed over Lakshadweep and dry weather prevailed over Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka. The chief amounts of rainfall recorded in cms. are: Kochi Airport and Cherthala (Alapuzha dt.) 3 each, Vellore, Yercaud, Aluva (Ernakulam dt.) and Punalur 1 each.

On Saturday, the maximum temperature rose appreciably at one or two places over Kerala, coastal Andhra Pradesh, north interior Karnataka, rose at many places over south interior Karnataka, at one or two places over north Tamil Nadu, Rayalaseema, and changed little elsewhere over the region.

They were markedly above normal at one or two places over south coastal Andhra Pradesh, appreciably above normal at many places over interior Karnataka, Telangana, Rayalaseema, rest south coastal Andhra Pradesh, at a few places over north Tamil Nadu, at one or two places over coastal Karnataka, north coastal Andhra Pradesh, above normal at a few places over Kerala, rest Tamil Nadu, at one or two places over rest coastal Karnataka, rest Telangana.

Hanamkonda, Nizamabad and Ramagundam recorded the highest temperature of 45 degree Celsius in the region.

FORECAST (valid until Tuesday morning): Isolated rain or thundershowers are likely to occur over Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema, south interior Karnataka, Kerala and Lakshadweep.

Mainly dry weather will prevail over Telangana, coastal and north interior Karnataka.

Farmers Weather Bulletin for Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry (valid until Tuesday morning): Isolated light to moderate rain is likely to occur over Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry.
