HUBLI: The Deputy Commissioner, Gourav Gupta, on Saturday said that the work on a truck terminal at Gabbur Cross on the outskirts of the city will begin within a month. Inaugurating a programme for trainers on "Exporting to European Union (EU) countries" organised under the auspices of the Federation of Karnataka Chambers of Commerce and Industry here, Mr. Gupta said the new terminal can handle 500 trucks. In the changed financial scenario, impetus to export is the need of the hour. The district administration is committed to providing infrastructure for the purpose. Mr. Gupta said steps will be taken up to solve the drinking water problem in industrial estates. A proposal to construct a ring road from Gadag Road to Gabbur Cross is being scrutinised.
