KOZHIKODE: Three members of a family were killed here on Sunday when the motorcycle on which they were travelling was hit by a private bus. The dead have been identified as Sugathan, 39, of Pavangad, his wife, Prakashini, 29, and son Akshay, 9. The accident occurred when the private transport bus on its way from Kannur to Kozhikode hit the two-wheeler at Pavangad junction. The three persons on the motorcycle were killed on the spot. The traffic police have registered a case. The bodies were taken to the Kozhikode Medical College Hospital for the post-mortem examination.
Road blocked
An irate public blocked traffic on the stretch for more than half an hour. Elathur police station sources said the local people blocked traffic demanding that the post-mortem of the bodies be performed on Sunday itself. The police later dispersed the crowd.
