Pensioners' plea

MADURAI: The Madurai District Pensioners Association has urged the State Government to disburse Rs.5000 as immediate relief to the families in the event of death of pensioners.

The executive committee of the association, which met here recently, thanked the Chief Minister for announcing three per cent dearness allowance for pensioners and increasing the number of recognised hospitals for availing medical assistance under the pensioners' benefit scheme.
