NEW DELHI: An attempt to loot bus passengers coming from the Indira Gandhi International Airport was foiled by the Anti-Robbery Section of the Crime Branch near Defence Club at Dhaula Kuan on Saturday with the arrest of two alleged contract killers. A country-made pistol along with two live cartridges was recovered from their possession. Acting on a tip-off, Crime Branch team laid a trap at a bus stop near Dhaula Kuan. As soon as the two, Intezar Khan alias Javed (26) and Irshad Khan (37) appeared the Crime Branch sleuths overpowered them. During interrogation, the accused reportedly disclosed that they planned to rob passengers coming from abroad as they usually carry huge sums of cash and valuables. According to the police, the two were also wanted in connection with the murder of Kaalu, a villager. The crime was committed on the intervening night of November 17/18, 2000, over a property dispute. The two along with their accomplices called the victim near stormwater drain at night and killed him. While six of the accused including the wife of Kaalu were arrested on September 27, 2002, Intezar managed to escape.
