BANGALORE: An eight-year-old boy was electrocuted when he accidentally came in contact with an electricity wire in the Hebbagodi Police Station limits on Saturday. According to police, Subramanya was playing with his friends near Mailasandra Bande by holding a long green eucalyptus stick. When he waved the stick, it came in contact with the power supply line and resulted in his death.
Arrested
The Commercial Street Police have arrested three persons on the charge of stealing PAN (permanent account number) cards and encashing refund cheques, which were given to them for delivery. The police recovered from them 150 PAN cards and 19 cheques for Rs. 25 lakhs. The police caught Sebastian (30) of Tyagaraja Nagar on May 11 during vehicle check. He was found holding a few covers containing PAN cards and cheques. On inquiry, they found that the accused and four others, Sajan (26), Stalin (25), Ravi and Shiva, were running a courier company. They had forged the cheques and created duplicate PAN cards. The originals were assigned for delivery by another courier company. The police have arrested Sajan and Stalin. A search is on for the other two.
Fatal fall
Shekar (10), son of Thangaraj of Srinagar, who fell from his first-floor house on Friday in Hanumanthangar Police limits, died at hospital on Saturday.
