THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: : A constable was killed when the autorickshaw in which he was travelling collided with a lorry near the Victory School in Nemom police station limits on Saturday night. According to the police, the deceased constable Anand Kumar was attached to the squad of the Circle Inspector, Nemom. The body of Anand Kumar has been kept in the mortuary of Medical College Hospital, the police said. Anand Kumar and another constable Madhu, who were coming in a two-wheeler spotted the driver of an autorickshaw creating problems for commuters around 10 p.m. Anand Kumar got into the autorickshaw and asked the driver to proceed to the station. However, the driver of the autorickshaw did not stop in front of the Nemom police station as directed by Anand Kumar. The driver plied the vehicle along the NH 47 towards Balaramapuram side and collided with a lorry. The constable, who sustained injuries, died at the hospital at 11.30 p.m. The Nemom police and traffic police have registered separate cases in this regard. The police have arrested Ramanan, 32, in this connection.
Two found hanging
Two persons were found hanging in separate cases in the city today. Rajappan Asari, 51, of Ponnara Nagar, Vallakkadavu, was found handing in his house in the afternoon. Sunilkumar, 38, of Anakode, Panniyode, Kattakkada, was found hanging in his house in the evening.
