COMPLAINTS ALL THE WAY: A TDLP delegation during a meeting with M. Narayana Rao, Chief Electoral Officer, at Secretariat in Hyderabad on Monday.
HYDERABAD: A Telugu Desam Party delegation on Monday submitted a memorandum to the Chief Electoral Officer, M. Narayana Rao, seeking action against the IGP, Rayalaseema region, R.P. Meena, and the Anantapur SP, R.S. Praveen Kumar, for their partisan attitude. The delegation led by the party's polit bureau member and the deputy leader of its Legislature Party, N. Janardhan Reddy, explained the situation in the Penukonda constituency where byelection is due on June 2. At a press conference later, they said an atmosphere of fear was prevailing in the constituency with Congressmen unleashing a reign of terror. They alleged that the two police officers were acting at the behest of the Chief Minister, Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, and the Ministers -- J.C. Diwakar Reddy and N. Raghuveera Reddy -- both of whom belong to the district.
