Crime Watch

House burgled

Thieves took away gold and cash, all worth Rs. 1.10 lakhs, from a businessman's house in Falaknuma.

Mohd. Ghouse and his family members went out to attend a function on Sunday afternoon. They returned home after midnight and found the property stolen from almirah, according to the police.

Fatal fall

Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) constable Phalguna Rao's four-year-old daughter, Monika, died on Sunday night when she accidentally slipped into a pit near her house in the CRPF Hakeempet quarters.

According to the Alwal police, the girl was loitering around when she fell inside the pit.

Gold, cash stolen

Gold ornaments weighing 15 tolas and Rs. 10,000 in cash were stolen from the house of a Central Press employee Narsing Goud at Saroornagar on Sunday night. Narsing Goud, who went out on some work, found lock of the house broken and the property stolen, according to the Saroornagar police.

Man found dead

A youngster, Vinod Kumar, was found dead in suspicious circumstances in the Saroornagar tank on Monday. The victim, along with his friends -- Sri Hari, Shiva Nagesh, Shekhar and Prasad -- played cricket at the grounds beside Saroornagar Municipality Office till noon. His parents -- Yadagiri and Aruna - suspected foul play behind their son's death.

Theft at shop

Robbers sneaked inside a shop at King Kothi hospital by drilling a hole on the asbestos-sheet roof of the building and took away Rs. 2.95 lakhs in the early hours of Sunday. According to a complaint lodged by the shop owner, Ahmed Muzafaruddin of New Agapura, the thieves broke open the table drawer and took away the cash, the Narayanaguda police said.

Succumbs

to injuries

An accident victim, K. Patrick, 51, who was shifted to hospital by the Saifabad police after he was found lying unconscious near Nirankari Bhavan, died on Saturday night.

A resident of SP Nagar, the victim was going on a bicycle when a lorry hit him near Trimulgherry crossroads on May 11.
