Special Correspondent

NEW DELHI: : CPI (M) general secretary Prakash Karat said on Monday that at a meeting with United Progressive Alliance constituents on Wednesday the Left parties would ask the Government to bring forward the women's reservation bill and the one that conferred the forest dwelling rights to tribals on a priority basis. He said the Left parties would present its assessment to the Government on that day.

The CPI (M) condemned the BJP's tactics of boycotting Parliament and extending it to the standing committee meetings.

`Probe into Gujarat riots'

On the recent developments in Gujarat, the party said the Government should expedite the probe by the Central Bureau of Investigation of the communal riots in the wake of statements by senior BJP leader Sunder Singh Bhandari, who served as the Governor in Gandhinagar.

The party also demanded a probe by the CBI or a special investigation team into the Centaur Hotels disinvestment issue as also the sale of the public sector hotel at Kovalam, Kerala.
