Appalling

It is appalling that an anganwadi worker lost her hands when she tried to prevent child marriages from taking place in a village of Madhya Pradesh. The fact that child marriage continues to take place, despite being banned, shows that people are unaware of its effect on population growth and reproductive health of women. Governments should accept the prevalence of the practice and launch awareness programmes to educate people against it.
