Medical camp for disabled from May 28

Enumeration of people with disabilities on

DHARMAPURI: The district administration will conduct a special medical camp for people with disabilities in the district, the Collector, Sudeep Jain, said here on Monday.

The camps would be held at all taluk headquarters from May 28 to June 25 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. for providing treatment to people with physical disabilities, hearing and speech impairments, visual impairment, mental disorders and the leprosy affected.

The Collector said that an enumeration on people with disabilities in the district was being undertaken by self-help groups, Anganwadi workers, Village Administrative Officers and health workers.

On May 28, the camp would be held at Government Higher Secondary School, Palacode Pulikarai, Maarandahalli, Karimangalam and St. Paul's Matriculation School, Vellisandhai.

On June 4 at Government Municipal School, Dharmapuri, and Government Higher Secondary School at Nallampalli, Palayampudur, Krishnapuram and Indur.

On June 11 at Panchayat Office, Pappireddipatti and Government Higher Secondary School at B. Mallapuram, Kadathur and Thenkaraikottai.

On June 18 at Government Higher Secondary School, Pennagaram, Eriyur and Papparapatti.

On June 25 at Panchayat Office, Harur, Morapur and Primary Health Centre, Kambainallur, and Government Higher Secondary School, Theerthamalai.

A team of five doctors including an ENT specialist, psychiatrist, orthopaedician, ophthalmologist and general physician would be present at each camp, he said.

Free buses have been arranged to transport persons to the respective camps.
