Thundershowers likely in Tamil Nadu

CHENNAI: Dry weather prevailed over Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala and Lakshadweep. On Monday, heat wave condition prevailed in some parts of Telangana and Rayalaseema. The maximum temperature fell appreciably at one or two places over north coastal Andhra Pradesh, fell at one or two places over rest coastal Andhra Pradesh, rose at one or two places over south coastal Andhra Pradesh, coastal Tamil Nadu and changed little elsewhere over the region. They were markedly above normal at one or two places over south coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema, Telangana, appreciably above normal at a few places over rest Rayalaseema, coastal Karnataka, Kerala, north Tamil Nadu, at one or two places over rest south coastal Andhra Pradesh, interior Karnataka, rest Telangana, above normal at one or two places over rest Tamil Nadu, rest Kerala, rest Karnataka and were generally normal over rest of the region. Hanamkonda recorded the highest maximum temperature of 47 degree Celsius in the region.

FORECAST (valid until Thursday morning): Isolated rain or thundershowers are likely to occur over Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry and Kerala. Mainly dry weather will prevail over Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Lakshadweep.

HEAT WAVE WARNING: Heat wave conditions likely to prevail over parts of Telangana and Rayalaseema during next two days.

FORECAST for Chennai City and Neighbourhood (valid until Thursday morning): Partly cloudy. Maximum temperature will be around 40 degree Celsius.
