Bhoruka Power set to achieve 100 MW capacity

BANGALORE:
Bhoruka Power Corporation Ltd. (BPCL), the State's leading renewable energy producer, is set to cross an installed capacity of 100 MW.
According to the BPCL Managing Director, S. Chandrasekhar, the company is implementing two hydel projects the 24 MW Chayadevi project in Gulbarga district and the 9 MW project coming up near Dharmasthala.
Besides these, BPCL is working on two smaller hydel projects in Dakshina Kannada and Kodagu.
The one in Gulbarga district uses Krishna waters. The 24 MW Chayavedi project can generate 60 million units a year and will cost Rs. 75 crores. The 9 MW hydel project that is coming up near Dharmasthala will use water from the Neria, a tributary of the Netravati.
