MUMBAI: Khandu Rangnekar XI slumped from 117 for five to be dismissed for 140 against Vijay Manjrekar XI on day one of The Sportstar trophy 2005 MCA u-19 selection trial tournament second round at National CC ground, Cross Maidan. Run-outs of established batsmen Mishal Hejmadi (55) and Anup Revandkar (24) sparked off the collapse. Left-arm spinner Vishal Dabolkar got timely breakthroughs to end up with four wickets, supported by three-wicket haul from medium-pacer Pratamesh Achrekar. Manjrekar XI too followed suit, sliding from 46 without loss to 91 for four at stumps. In another league game at Sunder CC ground, Pratik Desai's 64 (149b, 9x4) enabled Dattu Phadkar XI to lend some respectability at 215 for eight. Off-spinner Sachin Wagh emerged as the main wicket-taker with four for 36 off 16 overs, left-arm spinner Sagar Udeshi chipped in with two wickets. Brief scores: Khandu Rangnekar XI 140 (Mishal Hejmadi 55; Vishal Dabolkar four for 39) vs. Vijay Manjrekar XI 91 for four. Dattu Phadkar XI 215 for eight (Pratik Desai 64, Sachin Wagh four for 36) vs Vijay Merchant XI at Sunder CC.
