PONDICHERRY: The 168th annual Guru pooja of Sithananda Swamigal will be held at the shrine dedicated to the Swamigal in Karuvadikuppam on Pondicherry-Lawspet route on May 29. The Swamigal attained Jeeva Samadhi on the 15th day of Tamil month of Vaigasi in 1837. The temple is situated in a highly spiritually charged environment. The poet Subramania Bharathi, while visiting the `Kuyil Thoppu' in the proximity of the temple at Karuvadikuppam, would visit the shrine to offer prayers. The poet had also written a song in praise of the Swamigal, which is engraved on a wall near the sanctum sanctorum.
