THRISSUR: The elections to the Mandalam committees of the Congress party in the district were deferred on Tuesday following some "technical hitches." The District Congress Committee president, N. Bhaskaran Nair, said the reports of elections to the booth-level committees held two days before were yet to reach the district returning officer. The voters' list for the Mandalam committees could be published only after the reports on the booth-level elections were fully received. Mr. Nair said that the Mandalam elections would be held on May 19 if the reports of the booth level polls were received by then.
