KOZHIKODE: The Vigilance Enquiry Commissioner and Special Judge, Kozhikode, B. Sudheendra Kumar, on Tuesday issued summons to the former Minister for Irrigation T.M. Jacob and eight others to appear before him on July 4 in a case of irregularities in the execution of the Kuriarkutty-Karapara Irrigation Project. V.P. Arumughan and M. Leelamma, former Chief Engineers, Irrigation; M. Balakrishnan, former Superintending Engineer; M.N. Raghavan and M.G. Ramanathan, former Executive Engineers; P.K. Raman, former Assistant Executive Engineer; R. Jayapalan Nair, former Assistant Executive Engineer; and T.B. Kunhimahin, contractor; were issued summons apart from Mr. Jacob. N.V. Madhavan, former Irrigation Secretary, was acquitted by the vigilance court earlier. The Kerala High Court had ordered the investigation. The judge ordered issue of summons based on the report of further investigation by a vigilance investigation team submitted before him.
