Kalyana Rao cries foul

HYDERABAD:
G. Kalyana Rao, former CPI(Maoist) emissary and president of the Andhra Pradesh Revolutionary Writers' Association, has accused the police of resorting to "cultural attacks" on writers and artistes, with a view to creating discord among people's organisations.
In a statement issued here on Tuesday, he alleged that the police had prepared the effigy of Varavara Rao and filled it with explosives. He denied that this was the handiwork of Dalit organisations.
