Smart City: NC(I) seeks transparency

KOCHI: The proposed Smart City project should be made transparent and a meeting of people's representatives should be convened in this regard, the district committee meeting of the National Congress (Indira) demanded here on Tuesday.

The meeting said the State Government was showing a lackadaisical attitude towards solving the drinking water crisis in the district.

It was decided to complete the formation of block and mandalam committees of the party by May 28. A Rajiv Gandhi memorial meeting will be held on May 21 at G. Auditorium. Sebastian Paul, MP, will participate. The National Youth Congress (Indira) will also hold a Rajiv Gandhi memorial meeting at Rajendra Maidan on that day.

A workers' convention will be held in Kochi on July 7. The president of the party's State unit, K. Muraleedharan, will inaugurate the meeting.

K.B. Muhammad Kutty, district committee president, presided over the meeting. N. Venugopal, general secretary, N.K.A. Latheef, State vice-president, and K.C. Ramesh, district general secretary, participated.
