LUCKNOW: At least four people including three children have so far died and more than 200 taken ill due to diarrhoea in the Thakurganj area of the Uttar Pradesh capital. City Medical Officer (CMO) S K Srivastava said here that an eight month-old infant Fahnida died due to diarrhoea in the area last evening, taking the death toll from the infectious disease to four. Three people including two children died in the same area of diarrhoea on Friday last. More than 200 patients of the disease have also been identified in the area, health department sources said. The health department was working round the clock to control the water-borne ailment, Mr Srivastava said, adding that besides repairing the leaking water supply lines in the area, bleaching powder was also being sprayed. - UNI
