COIMBATORE: Oilseed growers can protect their rights and reduce cultivation risks by opting for contract farming in oilseed production. "In our country, oilseed cultivation is largely rainfed, involving much risk for farmers. Hence, they hesitate to adopt the recommended dosage of inputs," said the Vice Chancellor, Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, C. Ramasamy. Prof. Ramasamy was addressing a recent meeting of about 100 oilseeds scientists at the University, to take stock of the research conducted last year and make plans for the coming year.
