Commodity prices

Following were the prices (in rupees per kg) of essential commodities in the local wholesale market on Tuesday: Groundnut oil - 50, palmolein oil - 39.25, sunflower oil - 47.50, tamarind (flower variety) - 20 to 28, tamarind (karipuli variety) - 42 to 46, chillies (new) - 13 to 14, rice (2716) - 13, rice (superfine) - 15, rice (sona masoori) - 17 to 19, rice (samba masoori) - 15 to 17, black gram - 22 to 24, red gram - 22 to 27.30.

No power supply

Power supply will not be available between 7 a.m. and 10 a.m. in the following areas on Wednesday: Gayatri Nagar, Ramachandra Nagar, Sai Nagar, Kala Nagar and ME Colony. There will be no power supply between 6 a.m. and 10 a.m. in Super Bazar area, part of Gopal Krishna street, Mahalakshmi towers, part of Attarataiah street, part of Gopal Reddy road, part of Sivalayam road and Tadankivari street.

`Samara Bheri'

Activists of the CPI(M) city unit, on Tuesday, visited the fourth, fifth and 13th divisions of the city as part of the on-going `Samara Bheri' programme and received complaints from residents of hill area. Many residents complained about lack of sanitation, drinking water problem and some others wanted house sites.

Death anniversary

The CPI(M) will observe the 20th death anniversary of its leader Puchalapalli Sundaraiah here on May 19. Activists will garland the portraits of the leader and stage a rally from Tummalapallivari Kshetrayya Kalakshetram.
