THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A 40-year-old man escaped from police custody while he was being brought to the court of the judicial magistrate in Nedumangadu on Tuesday. The police identified the fugitive as Naushad. He was arrested by the Nedumangadu police in connection with an assault case. An official said efforts were on to arrest him.
One stabbed
A 40-year-old man was stabbed during a drunken brawl at a toddy shop near Idagramam in Nemom police station limits on Tuesday. The police have not yet established the identity of the injured person or the assailant.
Four hurt in accident
Four persons were injured when the motorbikes on which they were travelling collided at Chappathu junction in Vizhinjam police station limits on Tuesday. The police identified the injured persons as Jayan, Vijayakumar, Philip and Roy John. They have been admitted to Medical College Hospital.
