This Day That Age
Goa, besieged by satyagrahis, is being turned into a military base by the Portuguese authorities, who have deployed troops in south and south-east border areas. The troops have camouflaged themselves on important forest routes to prevent the entry of satyagrahis. The Portuguese authorities have sealed off the entire border from Sawantiwadi and have also warned the public in Goa that any response or cooperation on their part with the satyagraha movement would make them liable to pay a "satyagraha tax."
