ALAPPUZHA: The Kerala Congress(Jacob) leader T.M. Jacob has said that the opinion of the Congress president, Sonia Gandhi, that the exit of K. Karunakaran from the Congress has eased the tension in the State unit of the party is a result of the misinformation provided to her by the Chief Minister, Oommen Chandy, and his friends. Inaugurating a meeting organised by the Kerala Youth Front (Jacob) here on Wednesday in connection with its Jana Munnetta Yatra, Mr. Jacob said the people of the State had a clear opinion about the political tradition of Mr. Karunakaran and Ms. Gandhi. Ms. Gandhi became the president of the Congress in a peculiar situation. Mr. Karunakaran had played a role in her becoming the Congress president. ``Oommen Chandy and his coterie think that the exit of Mr. Karunakaran from the party would benefit them, but they will realize the truth in the coming days,'' Mr. Jacob said. He challenged the Chief Minister to deny his links with Chennai-based Rajan Chacko who according to Mr Jacob was the kingpin of a racket behind the leak of this year's SSLC question papers. Mr. Jacob said he was prepared to disclose the details of `Mr. Chandy's link's with Mr. Chacko if the former denied it. I will certainly reveal the details in the coming Assembly sessions. I want the details to go on the records of the Assembly,'' Mr. Jacob said.
