ALAPPUZHA: The 59th State conference of the Kerala State Transport Employees' Union will be held at T.S. Sasidharan Nagar, (GDM Hall), Kayamkulam on May 21 and 22. The CPI State secretary, Veliyam Bhargavan, will inaugurate the conference at 10 a.m. on May 21. The president of the union, C.Divakaran, will preside. The president of the reception committee, T.J. Anjelose, will welcome the gathering. The Transport Minister, N.Sakthan, will inaugurate a seminar on `problems faced by the KSRTC' at 3 p.m. Binoy Viswam, MLA, will preside. The union general secretary, M. Radhakrishnan Nair, will present a paper. The leaders of various unions in the KSRTC will participate in the discussions. The CPI State assistant secretary, Panniyan Ravindran, will inaugurate the felicitation meeting at 5 p.m. Those who retired from service and the former members of the union who took part in the transport strike in 1954 will be felicitated at the meeting. A group discussion of the union will be held on May 22.
