HYDERABAD: There was a little letup in the heat wave conditions in the State on Wednesday as two persons reportedly died of sunstroke in the city in last two days.

Day temperature fell by two degrees Celsius at many places, but remained above normal by as many degrees.

The Government asked Collectors to issue do's and don'ts to public in the light of severe heat. However, it has not yet activated a system to monitor sunstroke deaths as it did in 2003 when the State experienced a scorching summer, resulting in many such deaths.

The entire Telangana region, except Khammam, experienced heat wave for another day. Nature was lenient on coastal Andhra, where some places recorded isolated rains. Chintapalli reported 1cm rainfall.

The State's highest day temperature fell by one degree. It was recorded in Medak and Nizamabad at 46 degrees Celsius. Mercury remained above 40 degrees Celsius at a large number of places.

    G. Sudhakar Rao, Director, State Meteorological Office, said the heat wave conditions would continue for a couple of days in Telangana due to dry north westerly winds and lack of moisture in the atmosphere.

Two persons reportedly died of sunstroke in and around the city in the last two days. An unidentified person, aged about 45 years, was found dead on the road at Zunguru street in Mangalhat police station area on Sunday. The victim was clad in white shirt and brown trousers. Z. Gandaiah, 42, was found dead at a secluded place in Ramachandraguda village in Maheswaram mandal of Ranga Reddy district. The police suspect that he too died of sunstroke. He was a resident of Swami Vivekanandanagar near Puranapool in the city.
