CPI seeks details of talks with World Bank official

Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD: The Communist Party of India has demanded that the Chief Minister, Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy, make public his deliberations with the World Bank India Director, Michael Carter, in New Delhi on Tuesday.

In a statement issued here, the CPI charged the Government with trying to reach a tacit understanding with the World Bank for continued flow of funds. He alleged that the Chief Minister had failed to oppose the Bank's conditions and was now claiming that the interest rate of loans was low.
