This Day That Age
The talks between the Chinese Premier, Mr. Chou En-lai and Mr. V.K. Krishna Menon on the Formosa question continued in Peking behind a cloak of the strictest secrecy, as Mr. Krishna Menon's visit entered the ninth day. The farthest one could get behind the curtain of official silence was the programme of meetings the two leaders have so far had. This programme showed that Mr. Chou En-lai and Mr. Krishna Menon have had four separate meetings. Outside of these meetings, they have met four times at lunches and dinners. Mr. Chou En-lai also accompanied Mr. Krishna Menon when the latter spent a whole day sight-seeing in Peking.
