Letters to the Editor
May 9 marked the 60th anniversary of allied victory over Hitler's Nazi Germany. Media reports made much of the Soviet sacrifice and contribution to the war, saying the country suffered the most. Some questions need to be answered: What was the Ribbentrop-Molotov pact? The war against imperialism and capitalism started in September 1939. How did it turn into the people's patriotic war on June 22, 1941? What was the Soviet army doing when Hitler swallowed Norway, Denmark, Belgium, Holland and France? When the battle of Britain was at its highest peak, how many squadrons did USSR supply to fight the Nazis?
