RANCHI: The Jharkhand Cabinet on Thursday approved the transfer of a huge chunk of land of the State Animal Husbandry Department to the Sports, Art and Culture Department to develop a mega sports complex for holding the National Games at Ranchi in 2007. According to Cabinet Secretary Aditya Swarup, 171.69 acres belonging to the Animal Husbandry Department was transferred to the Sports, Art and Culture Department with the approval of the Cabinet for the purpose of developing a mega sports complex to hold the National Games in 2007 at Ranchi. The land is situated at Hotwar area in Ranchi. The Cabinet Secretary further stated that the Cabinet also endorsed the proposal to grant the status of a district to Ramgarh and Khunti sub-divisions.
