IMPHAL: The All Naga Students' Association in Manipur has threatened to launch an agitation if the Cabinet does not review its decision to teach the Manipuri script in Class I and II from next academic year. Other tribal students' bodies have supported the statement. The Cabinet decided to allow tribals to use the Roman script instead of the Manipuri script. Besides, the Government and the script activists have been saying that there is no question of imposing the script on other students. The students say all their 29 dialects should be recognised and teachers appointed in the schools.
