Panchayat polls: 13 seats for general category

DHARWAD: As many as 13 of the 22 seats in the Dharwad Zilla Panchayat have been reserved for general category candidates, including four seats for women, according to a notification issued here by the State Election Commission for the elections scheduled to take place in July this year.

Four seats have been reserved for Other Backward Classes (A), of which two have gone to women, two seats have been reserved for Scheduled Tribes, of which one has gone to woman, and one seat each has been reserved for Other Backward Classes (B-woman) and Scheduled Tribe woman.

The following are details of reservation of seats category-wise: General — Kotur, Garag (W), Narendra, Devikoppa, Tabakada Honnihalli (W), Byahatti, Adaragunchi, B Aralikatti (W), Alagawadi, Shalavadi, Nalavadi (W), and Yaliwal. OBC A: Uppina Betageri, Nigadi (W), Koliwad (W), Morab, Kamadolli. OBC B: Mishrikoti (W). Scheduled Castes: Hebballi (W), Saunshi, and Scheduled Tribes: Gudageri (W).
