Argentina beats Chile, enters final

DUSSELDORF: Gaston Gaudio handed Fernando Gonzalez his first ever defeat at the ARAG ATP World Team Championship and Guillermo Canas beat Olympic gold medalist Nicolas Massu to give Argentina an unassailable 2-0 lead over two-time defending champion Chile in the Red Group and advance to the final where it will meet either Germany or Spain.

The results: At Dusseldorf (World Team Cup): Red Group: Argentina 2 Chile 0 (Gaston Gaudio bt Fernando Gonzalez 6-4, 6-2; Guillermo Canas bt Nicolas Massu 6-2, 1-6, 6-3).

France 1 Czech Republic 1 (Sebastien Grosjean bt Jiri Novak 7-6(5), 6-3; Michael Llodra lost to Thomas Berdych 2-6, 1-6).

Blue Group: Spain bt U.S.A 2-1 (Alex Lopez Moron & Santiago Ventura lost to Bob Bryan & Mike Bryan 2-6, 3-6).
