MUMBAI: National men's badminton champion Anup Sridhar is heading for Copenhagen, Denmark this August to garner competitive experience over four months, according to coach Prakash Padukone. The BPL Prakash Padukone Academy trainee will represent Sleagse Badminton Club (SBC), placed in the Danish First Division League. Prakash, with first-hand Danish league experience, feels foreign exposure will help Anup think independently. "He has the height, fitness and talent, this is the stage for him to learn to think on his own. Four months in Denmark will make Anup an independent player, able to take decisions for himself off and on the court," said the former All-England champion, in Mumbai to work with North Indian Association badminton clinic trainees. Sridhar was part of India's squad which lost to Poland in play-offs for promotion to Group Two in the World mixed team event at the Sudirman Cup. Denmark, beaten by Indonesia in the semifinals, is in Group One along with Malaysia.
