NEW DELHI: A 350-member organising committee has been formed for the conduct of the Commonwealth Games to be held here in 2010. The exercise of forming an organising committee was completed after its Chairman, Suresh Kalmadi, held consultations with the Chairman of the Group of Ministers, Arjun Singh, and the Indian Olympic Association (IOA). Leading personalities from various walks of life have been included in the organising committee. They include Union ministers, Members of Parliament, government officials, office-bearers of IOA and National federations, sportspersons, industrialists and mediapersons. The following have been nominated as Deputy Chairmen: V. K. Malhotra, senior vice president, IOA, Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi, President, All India Football Federation, Jagdish Tytler, President, Judo Federation of India, Admiral Arun Prakash, Chairman, Chiefs of Staff Committee and President, Yachting Association of India, Mrs Meenaxi Anand Choudhary, Secretary, Sports Ministry, Sunil Mittal, Chairman, Bharti Telecom, S. Reghunathan, Chief Secretary, Delhi Government, and Madhukar Gupta, Vice-Chairman, Delhi Development Authority. K. P. Singh Deo will head the Sports and Games Technical Committee while Ratan Watal, Director-General, Sports Authority of India, will be its vice chairman. Special Correspondent
