KANNUR: Women entrepreneurs in the district have started a forum, `Vyavasaya Sthree,' for the development of entrepreneurship among women. The Vyavasaya Sthree president, C.N. Chandrika, and secretary, T.K. Prabhavathi, said at a press conference here on Thursday that the forum was being started to conceive schemes and plans for the overall progress of women entrepreneurs in the district. It would also explore ideas for collectively finding markets for products manufactured by the entrepreneurs, they said. The forum would be formally launched by the District Collector, K.S. Srinivas, at function at the Town Hall here on May 25.
Exhibition
A week-long exhibition of products of women entrepreneurs in the district would also begin that day, they said. Nearly 100 stalls would be arranged at the venue of the exhibition. They said the committee had plans to bring in experts in different industrial fields to conduct classes for women entrepreneurs. It also wanted to encourage entrepreneurship among young women, they said.
