BANGALORE: The Supreme Court order permitting professional colleges to continue with last year's fee structure is confined only to the engineering course, the Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs, H.K. Patil, said here on Thursday. He told presspersons that the Cabinet subcommittee on admissions to professional courses will hold its meeting on Saturday to discuss the implications of the Supreme Court order. The order is not applicable to medical and dental courses, he said. The Government is considering filing an application before the Supreme Court seeking another order to direct medical and dental college managements to follow the seat sharing and fee structure formula adopted last year. The Supreme Court had endorsed the agreement reached between the State Government and the private medical, dental and engineering college managements on seat sharing and fee structure for professional courses last year. The private college managements, however, decided against going by last year's agreement this year (2005-06) and welcomed the court order on fee structure for the engineering course.
