10 candidates for byelections

KANNUR: There were 10 people in the fray for byelections in the Koothuparamba and Azhikode Assembly constituencies as the last date for withdrawing nominations ended on Thursday.

In the Koothuparamba constituency, there are seven candidates, including the main rivals P. Jayarajan of the CPI(M) and K. Prabhakaran of the Congress. The Azhikode constituency has only three candidates including M. Prakashan of the CPI(M) and C.A. Ajeer of the CMP.
