Sunstroke claims lives of eight

KURNOOL: Four persons died of sunstroke on Thursday. In Kurnool, heat claimed the lives of Nagamma (70) of Kotapadu, Dastagiri (45) of Uyyalawada, Sumiri of Chagalamarri and Ramudu of Veldurthi. All four died while on a journey during midday. Temperature was recorded at 43.7 degrees in the district headquarters.

In East Godavari, the sunstroke toll mounted to 10 with four more persons dying on Wednesday and Thursday. According to revenue sources, one each died in Amalapuram, Skhinetipalli, Gollaprolu and Gokavaram mandals.
