KOLLAM: During the past four years, the public sector-Kerala State Cashew Development Corporation (KSCDC) received Rs. 129.15 crores as financial aid from the UDF Government. This was stated in a pressnote by the Managing Director of the KSCDC, K.A. Rathesh, here on Thursday. The aid includes the KSCDC's liability to various banks which had been taken over by the State Government. As a result of this, banks have started advancing working capital to the KSCDC. Mr. Rathesh said that the KSCDC is poised to turn into a profit-making unit within the next three years. The workers are getting work without any break. As part of improving the performance of the KSCDC, the research and development wing of the Corporation will be strengthened. Steps have already been taken to improve the KSCDC share in the domestic cashew kernel market. Cashew farming will be improved with Central Government aid, he said.
