Uttar Pradesh
GORAKHPUR: The Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister, Mulayam Singh Yadav, has announced a sum of Rs 40 crores for development projects in Gorakhpur district of the State. Addressing a public meeting at Barahi Inter College on Wednesday, 27 km from the district headquarters, the Chief Minister announced that bridges, roads and power sub-station would be constructed. Of the total amount, Rs. 13.35 crores would be spent on bridge construction on Karah Kol Ghat, Rs. 4 crores on another bridge on Dhoba Ghat and Rs. 1.2 crores on a pontoon bridge on Chanda Ghat, besides construction of roads and a 11 KV power sub-station. Mr Yadav also announced Rs. 50 lakhs for construction of lawyers chamber and a 30-bed hospital in Barahi.- UNI
